Day 13 of Euros

So, no actual football today- it’s the day when all the teams in the quarter-finals take a break, have a rest, train, whatever and make sure that they know their opponents inside out.

Here is the schedule:

Thursday (tomorrow)-

Czech Republic vs. Portugal

Friday-

Germany vs. Greece

Saturday-

Spain vs. France

Sunday-

England vs. Italy

The winner of the first two games will play each other in the first semi-final. The winner of the second two games will play each other in the second semi-final. This layout could easily lead to the Spain vs. Germany final that many predicted.

Can England do it?

Yes! Obviously!

Few little facts to remember about the quarter-finalists.

  • England, Italy, Spain and Germany are the only teams yet to lose a tournament game. (One of Italy or England will have to lose to ensure a semi-finalist.)
  • Germany are the only team to have won every game so far.
  • France and Greece have only one win each so far. (Both with a loss and a draw also.)
  • The Czech Republic are the only team to get to this stage with a negative goal difference.

Here’s to some good, exciting, proper quarter-finals!

Who do you think are going through? Why?
