What (not) to say….after the semi-finals of Euro’s 2012.

DON’T SAY

  • No wonder we lost to Italy. They beat the Germans!

DO SAY

  • It’s always good to see the Germans lose.

WHY?~Never mention England losing. Always mention Germany losing. Where applicable obviously.

DON’T SAY

  • Portugal almost beat Spain so they’ll be easy to beat for the Italians.

DO SAY

  • Pirlo is going to be the saviour of our boredom from Spanish football.

WHY?~Portugal are potentially better than Italy anyway. Also, mentioning an actual Italian footballer makes you look more ‘in the know’. Also, the general consensus is that spanish football is boring. So there.

DON’T SAY

  • Germany played awfully.

DO SAY

  • With players like Ozil, Lahm and Khedira, I expected more. However, a lot of them might not be over the Champions League final defeat.

WHY?~Anyone could see Germany played with no spark. Mentioning names and a recent tournament shows k-n-o-w-l-e-d-g-e.

Good luck convincing people you know what you’re talking about!
